Description/other
Good with dogs and cats. Poor Peluche was dumped at a NYC kill shelter after his owner moved to an apartment that didn't accept pets. Nervous and frightened, Peluche was rescued at the 11th hour. Now in an active foster home, this low maintenance boy gets along well with all the dogs in his new, temporary digs. He likes to play with toys and spends his days snuggling on top of the sofa, moving to a dog bed, then settling down on his foster mom's bed. He is mostly housebroken but could use more reinforcement. Peluche walks well on leash and likes to follow his foster mom around. He is very affectionate and is never happier than when he is getting a belly rub or being carried around. Peluche's original owner said he lived with a newborn and a six year old and was gentle and loving. His foster mom has found him to be more nervous-unexpected moves cause him to jump and pull away. For this reason, we prefer an adult only home. Peluche would do best in a quiet home with someone who was willing to give him space and time to settle in and feel comfortable. He would love a home where someone is around a lot. He tends to keep his distance with strangers and will be uncomfortable if someone he doesn't know approaches him. Peluche is a very easy dog and in time we think he will build trust and be a good and loyal companion.
