ELSIE IS ON HOLD> Elsie is a 2½ year old 60lb female American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix. She has the most aware, deeply loving energy, and has been known to make instant special connections with certain humans. Her favorite place to sleep is in bed next to you, or on the couch, which as she sees it is a giant snuggly dog bed. Unfortunately, Elsie and her canine housemate got into a fight recently and per recommendation of a behaviorist and a trainer, can no longer live together. given that Elsie is not very at peace living in an elevator building (any dog could be standing there when the door opens!) or with the human toddler that has taken over the apartment, there is definitely a home out there that would be more suited to her needs. While she should go to a home without any other dogs, she is completely manageable on walks. She would do great in a home with older children or no children; she currently lives with a human teen that she likes a lot more than the toddler, and has had great interactions with school-aged children in her home in the past. She seems to do ok with the cat at the local pet store and loves car rides. Elsie is a total athlete and, while she would love a yard of her own, she will happily settle for a daily run with the right human. She is mushy and goofy and very sweet, this is breaking our hearts. Elsie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, house trained and knows basic commands (but complies best for treats!). She has transferable pet insurance that covers 90% of all problem-related vet expenses other than the exam fee (including medications, labs, x-rays, surgery, etc.). The cost of insurance for the first year will be taken care of by her current owners. Elsie is temporarily on hold.
