Bear is a beautiful, healthy, three year old purebred Pomeranian who ended up in a kill shelter after both he and his sibling were taken away from an abusive owner on Long Island. Despite his sad past Bear is a super loving little boy, the consummate cuddle bug. Bear bonds quickly and adores snuggling on your lap. Within hours of meeting his foster mom he devoured her with kisses. Bear gets along with other dogs--he ignores his foster mom's dogs--but tends to be alpha in the pack and may guard his food and treats . Bear can also be protective of his person. He bonds strongly to his owner and may not take well to others, barking protectively--very typically Pomeranian. Bear is very smart. By the second day in his foster home he learned where to go potty and comes immediately when called (not that he ever leaves your side for long!) Bear is not at all destructive--if he is alone, he will just nap and greet you with wild excitement when you return. Pomeranians tend to be nervous and easily excitable--for that reason we are looking for an adult only home and ideally someone who is familiar with the breed. Please consider sweet Little Bear. He will make a very loving companion.
